Bonfire night in Rochdale: Where to celebrate

It’s almost that time of year again when the night sky fills with light and the crowds all watch from afar with big grins and even bigger coats – bonfire night has officially arrived!

So if you’re feeling ready to tackle the cold in the hopes of seeing beautiful displays of fireworks, sparklers and bright lights, here are some of the best local events happening over the bonfire night period.

Heywood Bonfire & Fireworks Display

The first event coming up before the traditional Guy Faukes night is on Saturday the 2nd of November at the Heywood Cricket Club, complete with drinks, food and festive entertainment!

From 5:30pm the gates and bar will open to the public, with an entry fee of £3 per adult and £1.50 per child. The (fairly huge) bonfire will then be lit at 6:30pm and the spectacular fireworks display will begin at approximately 7:45pm!

For more information on the event, you can contact Catherine Freeman on 01706 369146.

Middleton’s Fundraiser Bonfire & Fireworks Display

Next up is Middleton’s Fundraiser Bonfire & Fireworks Display, also on Saturday the 2nd of November – which one to choose?!

Middleton Cricket Club will be holding their own bonfire and fireworks display as part of a fundraising scheme, where you can enjoy some quality time with family and friends all while raising money for charity!

With gates opening at 5:00pm, the night will be family fun-focused with food stalls to grab yourself a toasty treat, rides to keep you occupied before the bonfire is lit and fireworks lighting up the dark winter sky.

Heywood Bonfire & Fireworks Display

Remember, remember the 5th of November… to head down to Queen’s Park, Heywood for the town’s official bonfire and fireworks display!

This night is set to be a brilliant family fun night with the bonfire lit for 7:00pm and the fireworks display due to start at 7:30pm. But that’s not all – a massive funfair with exciting and stomach-flipping rides will be set-up to keep the smiles going all night long.

Rochdale Bonfire & Fireworks Display

If you’re still wanting to attend more firework displays and smokey bonfires after Tuesday 5th then don’t fret – you can head down to Cronkeyshaw Common on Wednesday the 6th of November for Rochdale’s night of spectacular light!

On the evening the bonfire will be lit at 7:00pm and the firework display will start at 7:30pm – we’re starting to think that there won’t be a dark night in the sky over the month of November, with displays on almost every night of the week!

The skies are sure to shine bright; stay safe and have fun!
