If you’ve visited us lately, you may have seen one of our revamped plant displays near Bean Coffee (there’s another area the entrance to Reel Cinema) – bursting with a mix of seasonal and evergreen perennials and shrubs. The integrated seating and planters offer a lovely place to meet or to sit and enjoy a spot of lunch.
Adding colour and scent, growing in our charming flower beds you will find; Stachys, Verbena, Euonymus and Lavender… loved by bees and butterflies!
The power of plants
Not only do our new plant displays look good, they also symbolise our care for the environment.
At a time when maintaining good health has never been so relevant, there are so many health benefits that plants provide. From cleaning the air we breathe to forming green, healthy physical barriers which improve our mental wellbeing. The influence on humidity levels also reduces coughing and sneezing and can provide protection against some airborne particles.
Plants also give the environment a boost, by releasing oxygen into the air whilst absorbing carbon dioxide, providing nutrients for animals and regulating the water cycle. All things we need to sustain a healthy planet.
