Isabelle Parry, who is 10 and from Littleborough, was named cream of the crop in a competition to design personalised sweet treats, courtesy of Rochdale Riverside’s Dunkin’ Donuts store.
She took part in the summer challenge to dream up the decoration and filling for six new donuts, which were then professionally produced at Dunkin’ Donuts manufacturing HQ.
The design was a pretty rainbow and clouds and the filling of choice was vanilla with coloured icing and she was thrilled when she collected her prize.
She said: “I love Dunkin’ Donuts so when I found out I could have the chance to design my own I was really excited.
“I love rainbows and the shape of a donut was perfect to draw one on. My favourite filling is vanilla but I wanted to add more colour on the outside with sprinkles too.
“I couldn’t believe it when I won!”
Liam Peters, Dunkin’ Donuts store manager, said: “We had loads of amazing entries to our design a donut competition and it was wonderful to see the children really going all out with some fantastic creations!
“As ever, there could only be one winner and after hours of deliberation we finally settled on Isabelle’s entry.
“The colours and design really stood out and who doesn’t love a rainbow! We hope Isabelle enjoys her well-deserved prize.”
Rachel Byrne, Centre Manager at Rochdale Riverside, said: “Dunkin’ Donuts is a firm favourite with shoppers here at Rochdale Riverside and lots of children jumped at the chance to get creative.”
“Isabelle was over the moon when she saw the finished donuts and, I have to say, vanilla is my favourite too.”
