It’s the return of Rochdale’s Feel Good Festival, and you know what – we’re feeling good about it. The past years have seen some incredible performers grace Rochdale’s stages, including Feeder and BRIT Award nominees Razorlight, and this year’s talent is not letting up!
To ensure you’re prepared for the event of the summer we’ve compiled this helpful journal entry giving you a low down on what to expect.
So without further ado, here’s what you need to know about the Rochdale Feel Good Festival 2019.
Where and when
This year’s Rochdale Feel Good Festival will take place on August 10th outside of the iconic Rochdale Town Hall. It’s totally free, is wheelchair accessible and has plenty of car parking, so it’s just about the most inclusive party in Greater Manchester. Timings for the day are as follows:
- Food and drink village: 11am-11pm
- Main stage: 12noon-10.45pm
- Family Zone: 11am-5pm
Do you think you have what it takes to stay for the full 12 hours?
What to expect
Get ready for a full day of incredible live music from national hitmakers, a veritable feast of food and drinks suppliers from across the region and laugh-out-loud entertainment from start to finish.
Rochdale truly pulled out all of the stops this year in terms of performers. We’ll be welcoming indie legends The Coral and The Hoosiers, as well as up-and-coming talents like Ione and Alias Kid.
The Hoosiers are best known for their mid-noughties hits including Goodbye Mr A and Worried About Ray, whilst The Coral’s 2011 anthem Dreaming Of You is a favourite amongst Indie-lovers and has a whopping 6.4m views on YouTube! Not bad for our Rochdale, eh?
As well as these legendary acts, the best of Rochdale’s food and drink scene will be setting up stalls to offer up delicious culinary treats and Summery drinks – you can see the full list of traders here.
There will also be a dedicated Family Zone so you can sit back and have some quality time with the kids, with face painting, play areas and more!
Battle it out
One of our favourite events of Rochdale’s Feel Good Festival is the Battle it out contest, giving local talent the opportunity to perform a 25-minute slot on the Saturday. Amazing, right?
All you need to do to be considered for this amazing opportunity is email a link to a YouTube video of you performing live, along with a short biography to email@example.com. What future superstar wouldn’t want the chance to sing on the same stage as The Coral and The Hoosiers?
Good luck to those applying!
More to come!
As there’s still another few months before the big event, we’re likely to be getting some exciting new additions to the line-up before August. To keep up to date with all the news and anticipation surrounding Rochdale’s Feel Good Festival 2019, just visit Rochdale Borough Council’s website here.
